West Africa Leaks

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

This is the largest collaboration of journalists from the region that brought together a dozen reporters to dig into the secretive financial affairs of some of the region's most powerful politicians, business moguls and corporations. Journalists from 11 countries, working in three different languages, explored almost 30 million complex leaked documents from Swiss Leaks, the Panama Papers, Paradise Papers and more. In this session, you will get tips for your own cross-border investigations and learn how to manage regional, cross-border projects. Reporters from West Africa Leaks will discuss how to use global collaborations to internationalise your reporting and your impact, how to manage multilingual teams of reporters, find extra sources of data, report on sensitive financial stories with impact, how to avoid legal pitfalls and how to protect your reporting and yourself from threats and editorial interference.
